A Classical Education

Providence Christian Academy is a classical school in St. Louis, Missouri, which offers a unique educational experience for students K-12. We employ the Trivium, a time tested and "classical" approach to learning which focuses on the three stages of learning: Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric. In the Grammar stage, children are like sponges, and are able to memorize large amounts of important facts. Later, they move to the Logic stage in which they begin to question and reason through the nature of things. Finally, they begin to express themselves in the Rhetoric stage, and so we equip them with the tools they need to persuasively write and speak with clarity and eloquence.

Providence Christian Academy is located at 5293 S. Lindbergh, St. Louis MO (minutes from the I-44 & 270 interchange, and the I-55 & 270 interchange). Providence is a member of the Association of Classical and Christian Schools (ACCS), the American Classical League and National Junior Classical League, as well as several other organizations in the Saint Louis area.

A Busy Summer for our Teachers!

PCA teachers have had a busy summer in preparing for the 2008-09 school year!  In our quest to improve our methods and sharpen our gifts, we sent eight teachers to a week long conference in Memphis, which focused on teaching critical thinking skills.  We just finished a Right-Start Math training for our grammar teachers here at PCA.  Our grammar school Latin teacher, Jenny Ziebarth, will be attending a Latin teachers conference in Texas.  Also, our grammar school teachers will be attending PCA's "Spell to Write and Read" training in late July.  Thank you for your encouragement and prayers for our teachers!  We are looking forward to teaching more effectively this coming year.
