A Classical Education
Providence Classical Christian Academy is a school in St. Louis, Missouri, which offers a unique educational experience for students K-12. Inspired by the classical liberal arts, our vision for education strives to teach and form students as life-long learners, cultivating knowledge and skills, as well as wisdom and virtue as they grow in appreciation of what is good, what is true, and what is beautiful.
One distinctive feature of a classical education is a language arts program that places the classical Trivium of grammar, logic, and rhetoric at its center. Fundamental skills of both English and Latin are taught thoroughly in the early grades, preparing students for a more formal study of logic and critical thinking in the middle grades. This then equips students in the upper school to begin learning the art of rhetoric in writing and speaking that is both persuasive and eloquent.
Yet as a Christian school, all our efforts strain toward a single unifying goal and purpose. Desiderius Erasmus, that well known classical scholar of the Renaissance, said it well: “All studies, philosophy, and rhetoric are learned for this purpose: that we may know Christ and praise His glory. This is the end of all learning and eloquence."
Providence Classical Christian Academy is located at 5293 S. Lindbergh, St. Louis MO (minutes from the I-44 & 270 interchange, and the I-55 & 270 interchange). Providence is a member of the Association of Classical and Christian Schools (ACCS) and the American Classical League.

Welcome New Faculty and Staff for 2013-2014!
We welcome Miss Jill Harding to our staff, as she serves as our new bookkeeper for 2013-2014. Miss Harding has many years of experience with managing finances. Currently, she is concluding her training at Covenant in the counseling program. She will be transitioning to take on all of the bookkeeper duties after July 4th.
For first grade, we are pleased to welcome Mrs. Rachel Nickel. Mrs. Nickel will be familiar to many of you, as her two daughters have attended Providence for a few years now. In addition to helping with various music presentations, she also served on the Internal Review Team for our recent accreditation endeavor. Moreover, Mrs. Nickel has taught in various capacities at other classical Christian schools. She comes with many insights into classical Christian education and a sincere love for young children.
Mr. Christopher Buckles will be teaching seventh and eighth Literature and Composition, as well as ninth grade Rhetoric. Mr. Buckles has taught both in church and school settings, and he is excited to see his desire to serve young men and women join with his love for literature and truth. He has served on various mission trips, and looks forward to joining with us in our mission to develop wise, eloquent, and virtuous men and women. Mr. Buckles’ wife, Lindsey, is currently enrolled as a student at SLU.
Mr. Peter Joslyn will be taking on eleventh grade Humanities, tenth-twelfth Rhetoric, and fourth-sixth grade Latin. Mr. Joslyn was classically trained and has taught at another classical Christian school in Virginia.
