Course title: Chemistry
Grade: 10
Credits: 1
A. Course Description:
Chemistry is a survey of Chemistry, emphasizing chemical reactions and modern atomic theory.
B. Course Objectives/Methods:
Chemistry is an introduction to Chemistry. It underlines the understanding of atoms and molecules as their relations provide the foundation for the modern understanding of matter. There is a strong emphasis on the scientific mathematics necessary to translate from molecular interaction to measurable change.
C. Course Goals:
Students will be able to do the Following:
- Reach reasonable and scientifically sound conclusions by performing experiments following the scientific method.
- Apply the scientific method to a variety of situations, including
- The nature of matter and how it interacts
- Analysis of chemical reactions
- Summarize and express understanding of written information
- Cultivate a greater awareness of the majesty and power of our Creator.
- Develop an interest in how matter works.
- Demonstrate an inquisitive nature that wonders why things in nature happen as they do.
- Develop the analytical faculties to answer said inquiries without much background.
