A. Course Description:

Physics is a survey of Physics, emphasizing forces and constant acceleration equations.

B. Course Objectives/Methods:

Physics is an introduction to Physics. It underlines the foundational Newtonian Laws of Physics as well as their application on the surface of the earth. There is a strong emphasis on the scientific mathematics necessary to predict and account for gravitation.

C. Course Goals:

Students will be able to do the Following:

  • Reach reasonable conclusions by performing experiments following the scientific method.
  • Apply the scientific method to a variety of situations, including
  • o The basic motion of matter
  • o The basic ideas of Newtonian Physics
  • Summarize and outline written information
  • Cultivate a greater awareness of the majesty and power of our Creator.
  • Form arguments into logical, concise, written form
  • Develop an interest in how motion works.
  • Develop an inquisitive nature that wonders why things in nature happen as they do.
  • Develop the analytical faculties to answer said inquiries without much background.
  • Answer advanced questions logically from known information.
